Honda S2000 Top Sports Car

Great driveability in traffic also as on twisty roads where one can wind it out. Excellent build quality and, consequently, a coffee cost for extending full warranty coverage to seven years. Finally, there's also an excellent community of S2K car clubs with enthusiasts into tuning, track days or social outings and drives. An ownership experience bar none.

S2000 is almost 20 year old now; and still; I would not change it with a brand new Z4, Miata, Solstice, Sky and even a Boxster. Unlike most cars, S2000 may be a purpose built driving machine. Engine, transmission, and chassis isn't shared by the other model. Engine is small, light and powerful. Chassis is so stiff, the rear tire was also raised once I was jacking up the front! The engine is found completely behind the front axles, and therefore the rear may be a tad heavier than the front. S2000 is meant to offer you the utmost driving satisfaction. What a blast! Surprisingly my wife and that i was ready to transport enough luggage and supplies for the weekend trip with space left over. XM radio reception was fine, but it's nothing just like the whine of the engine against the redwoods, tight curves and straightaways. The 4-cylinder V-Tech is an absolute monster that leaves me looking for an excuse to go to the coast again. In fact the sole complaints are tired facial muscles from grinning sort of a 2-year old, and a sun burn from refusing to let the highest up!

I was in the market for a Porsche Cayman or an exotic that was good as a everyday driver if needed. I somehow always wound up on a search path on the S2000 in forums. All I heard was good, but honestly the internet pics did the S2000 no justice. I decided to go see it in person at a Honda dealership. I was in the market for no nonsense sports car, structurally tight, no rattles, and had a very good dependable engine. When I test drove the car, it was the right fit. For the same price you can buy some others, but this car fit me for what I wanted. I don't like clutter. I like efficient, practical equipment on my cars that is sporty.
First, I rated this car for what it is--a performance-focused roadster trackable available form but intended to be the maximum amount fun as you'll legally wear the road. So, as an example , once I rate it highly for comfort, I'm not comparing it to an enormous Merc. It's easy to get in and out of--for a low two-seat roadster etc. The car feels solid, and for those folks familiar with Hondas, the standard may be a little different as it's more like absolute quality instead of quality for a price point. These cars were not cheap at all. They were special. They still are. Do remember that the famous high-revving S2000 engine will likely require more maintenance than, say, your typical Accord engine. Yes, it is a Honda, but it is also a high-performance sports car that revs to either 8200 or 9000 rpm counting on the vintage. Word is beginning of the specialists' shops that '06-'09 models with the drive by wire throttle have a high incidence of exhaust valves set too tight at the factory.
