The 1964 Porsche 356 C 1600 SC Cabriolet that belonged to the singer Janis Joplin, hides behind a series of experiences worth telling, and perhaps that is why at that auction it becomes one of the most expensive Porsche 356s in history.
Although the model is from 1964, the singer bought it in 1968. The car had the original pearl white color, but this was not particularly liked by the so-called queen of Rock and Roll.
The artist decided to paint on it, as a mural, what he considered "The history of the Universe". Butterflies and jellyfish mix with other elements in a colorful mural that includes a portrait of Joplin and some of his gang members.
The result was this car that you see in the photos, a most curious mixture of colors and shapes that today is identified as a work of the hippy era.
The singer used the car regularly, and in a very short time the car became famous and perfectly identified its owner. According to Laura, Janis's sister, "She would drive the car everywhere, from San Francisco to Los Angeles she would drive when she was filming there."
