Greetings, fellow Blurters, today I want to bring you another pleasant memory, this time related more to my passion, if the cars.
This memory is from the end of June-July 2014, I don't remember the month very well but the date was clear on the 24th... It all starts when some days ago my parents told me about an ad that appeared in a local newspaper "I Expo Redior" where in this event they would cover not only the automotive world, but there was also a military exhibition (another thing I like, although not as much as the cars), and of course folk music and food fair of the area.
As soon as I read that ad, I remember I said yes! immediately, and I started organizing everything I had to do to attend that event. This event started at 10am and we arrived at 1pm, so we had already missed some of the demonstrations, but notwithstanding the exhibits, although most of the exhibits at least automotive, the owners took their high powered motorcycles out for a ride and one more than another car that they put on just to demonstrate their machines.
We went from area to area, first passing by the exhibition of high-capacity motorcycles, where there were a few Yamaha R1, R6, Suzuki Gsx 1000, Vstorm, Honda Cbr ( from 600 to 1000cc) and some Benelli motorcycles. Followed by that was the exhibition of cars, where there were good models, but you could tell that people were concentrated in a place as if something was calling them, and as if not if you heard the powerful roar of that Z06.
We passed several booths before reaching where this Vette rested (as they call the Corvettes their fans), I remember that in these booths mentioned, was the selection of Formula SAE of the university where I study now, a couple of Mustangs 06' with some modifications, and several models of conventional cars (Fiat Palio, Chevorlet Aveo, and Ford Fiesta, Focus, among others) slightly "tuned" placed in that way, because most modifications not so great, such as replacing a traditional air filter, by a high-flow conical, put a torsion bar and some paint work on the engine side. Obviously these cars were not here for their horsepower but rather for what they carried in their bags, some audio systems to make the party where the car can take you.
And that's how we passed and passed until we reached that car that everyone was around, a brand new 2007 Corvette Z06, which here are rare to see not to say almost unique, since these cars of a certain respectable level of horses (505HP to be exact) not everyone has to get one and even more so for what it means the maintenance costs.
I could not believe it was there in front of me a Z06, his figure that is partly its main attraction, was spectacular, by God who would not like one like that, is the dream of any self-enthusiast, although I must confess I'm not a fan of American cars at that time, but this always had a place in my list of favorite cars, as the Corvette is tradition, and anyone would recognize that car anywhere, as this model as in some previous generations retain their two pairs of headlights and that straight finish behind.
The best part came when the owner chose to accelerate a little that LS7 that was powered by the Z06, just a perfect melody, a beautifully deafening sound. Literally a dream come true that day, being so close to a car of that level and listening to it was the best thing ever....
All the photos of the post, were taken with my Panasonic DMC-FS7 and with a minimum photo retouching applied with a native filter application of my LG-e455g
