That right there is the Lexus LFA. Lexus' biggest hit. Their first ever supercar. And for a first attempt in my opinion, not too shabby Lexus not shabby at all. It's known as a"Halo Car". Now you're probably wondering "what's a halo car?". A halo car is a reminder to remind people what the manufacturer is all about to create hype and bring in some new customers.

The moment you sit inside this car till the moment you start her up you'll instantly know it was a Japanese product. Take the Nissan GTR for example. It was packed full of technology. And this is nothing different. Let me show you how advanced it really is. It took 6 years for research and development, and finally released in May,2009.

The chasis, various body panels, including the hood, steering wheel, rear diffuser, trunk, etc. are made of carbon fiber. However for the first 4 years of development, those were made out of aluminium and then someone decided to change to carbon fiber. And that is why it took 10 years to make. But this was Lexus, a sub-brand of Toyota, avoid compromise at all cost.

It had 20 inch BBS wheel wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tyres. It had adaptive dampers, with a double-wishbone setup drivetrain in the front and multilink in the rear. Now while they were tinkering with carbon fiber and aluminium, they were also working on another thing. THE ENGINE.

A V10, the size of a V8, which weighs less than a V6, that makes 553bhp and 354lb-ft of torque in a 4.8 litre naturally aspirated motor, that screams the LFA from 0-100km/h in 3.6 seconds and tops out at 202 MPH, with a 9000 RPM redline and a 9500 RPM fuel shutoff just to keep things safe. Well let's just say it sounds pretty sick.

How does it rev that high? It has forged titanium connecting rods, aluminum pistons, solid titanium valves and magnesium alloy cylinder head covers(a lot of very expensive, very lightweight metal). It's an engine with F1 pedigree. This car is capable of over 2 lateral G's in the corners, all while pressurized oil is making sure things get lubbed up inside.

However it might be a piece of art, it was expensive. Costing around $375000 when it was new. And still at that price Lexus was making a considerable loss on the sale of each car. But now that priced has doubled because they have become very desirable. So if you're considering one as a future investment, go for it.
