The Rambo Lambo

Recently in 2018, Lamborghini unveiled an SUV called the Urus(which, in Italian means large bull. Which is suitable considering they have a bull on their logo). Many thought to believe that this was their first SUV. But they were wrong. This was the Urus' predecessor. It was called the LM002.

It was originally built to be a military vehicle, but unfortunately no army wanted it. So in 1986 they decided to wrap it in leather, add a tape deck and offer it to any mad customers who were into it. Even though everyone quickly fell in love with the new Urus, this is the original SUPER SUV.

What's the stand-out feature?
Under the bonnet is the "SUPER" part. A 444bhp 5.2 liter V12, lifted straight out of the Countach. However because of this, it weighs just over 3 tonnes, but 0-60mph still takes around 8 seconds. But it drinks fuel at a very alarming rate. You can get 8 mpg "if you're careful". Luckily then it has a 290 liter fuel tank.

What does it go like?
Firstly it's a bit too wide for the road. When sitting inside, there are a lot of completely incomprehensionable buttons with levers and switches. The gear lever is actually quite far away from you when you're driving and the clutch pedal is so hard, you can think about skipping leg day. Then you get the steering. It a little bit like turning the wheel of an oil tanker. Where either nothing happens, or there's a massive delay before anything meaningful happens. A bit like the engine to be honest. It's a glorious piece of engineering, as we all know. It makes all the right noises, but because it's moving around 3 tonnes, it's a little bit sluggish.

Verdict?
Stand-by for some actual consumer advice because these things are going for about $400 000 and are steadily rising. Pretty much the price of 2 top of the range Urus'. They are increasingly rare. Even though it was built between 1986 till 1992, only 300 were built. The bigger question is:
Which one is the better buy?
Well, if you live in a war-zone, have access to lots of cheap fuel, then I can highly recommend the LM002. And for everyone else, well there's always the Urus

Well that's all I have to say. Please do be sure to follow for more articles like this.
