Yes. You read that correctly. That was not a typo.
This is the anticipated MK5 Toyota Supra. But I know Toyota fan boys are going to hating me after this post, but I have show everyone the truth. Because this might be named as a Toyota Supra but in actual fact underneath this is a BMW. The 2020 BMW Z4 M40i.
Yes that's the truth. And to be honest there's only 3 big things that separate each other:
~ one is a BMW, the other is a Toyota
~ one is a convertible, the other is a coupe
~ the bodies
And that's pretty much everything that separates them. Otherwise they are the exact same car. Same engine, 3.0 litre straight 6 turbo, aka the B58
which produces 335 bhp and 365 pound-feet of torque. Paired up with an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power directly to the rear wheels.
But to be fair to Toyota, they didn't just copy any old sports car manufacturer, they copied from the best. Because BMW is without a doubt the greatest sports car manufacturer of all time. They brought us the likes of the M3, Z4, M5, and a whole lot more.
So why wouldn't Toyota copy BMW. And their new car isn't short from greatness. Because a sports car isn't about how fast it is, it's about the way it handles and the feel of it, and BMW's are known for that.
But apart from that, Toyota has another problem. And it's their fans. Because the MK4 Supra is an icon. Because firstly it was much more faster and powerful than it's competitors. But now that's changed dramatically. Refer to below image:

Be that as it may, let's not forget the main reason we fell in love with the MK4 Supra. It's immense tuning potential. The old one with just a simple tune you'd be hitting 500 bhp. And its the same story with the current version. With just a simple tune you'd be touching close to 500 bhp.
But at the end of the day it's all about what you're looking for. So now lets talk price. If you're considering the Supra you're looking at around 55000 dollars and for the BMW its around 68000 dollars.
