Hey guys. I am new to blurt. This is my first post of many. I really hope you all enjoy the content I will be posting.
This is a 1994 MK3 Volkswagen Golf VR6.
I got interested in this car because of my brother.
He owned one. And he put me in charge of washing it, cleaning it, detailing it, etc.
But the main reason i fell in love with this is because of that glorious engine.
The 2.8 litre VR6. It was an absolute masterpiece. The engine note was irreplaceable. Volkswagen created a jewel of an engine.
It was a narrow angle V6, where the V was at an angle of 15 degrees. And then the naming system really makes sense.
V-as in V6
R-which was German for i(inline)
6-6 cylinders
So it was neither a V6 or an inline 6
It was a VR6.
Standard is produced 172 bhp and 173 lb-ft of torque, which was quite powerful back then. It also had a o-100km/h time of 7.6s.
In comparison a 2010 BMW 328i did it in 7.3s.
I hope that one day in the near future i can afford one. Until then i just have to work hard and be patient.
