Bicycle

The preferred bicycle model—and most popular vehicle of any kind within the world—is the Chinese Flying Pigeon, with about 500 million produced.

A bicycle, also called a cycle or bike, may be a human-powered, pedal-driven, single-track vehicle, having two wheels attached to a frame, one behind the opposite. A bicycle rider is named a cyclist, or bicyclist.

Bicycles were introduced within the late 19th century in Europe, and by the first 21st century, over 1 billion are produced worldwide.These numbers far exceed the amount of cars, both in total and ranked by the quantity of individual models produced. they're the principal means of transportation in many regions. They also provide a well-liked style of recreation, and are adapted to be used as children's toys, general fitness, military and police applications, courier services, bicycle racing and bicycle stunts.

The basic shape and configuration of a typical upright or "safety bicycle", has changed little since the primary chain-driven model was developed around 1885.But many details are improved, especially since the appearance of contemporary materials and software. These have allowed for a proliferation of specialised designs for several varieties of cycling.

The bicycle's invention has had an unlimited effect on society, both in terms of culture and of advancing modern industrial methods. Several components that eventually played a key role within the development of the auto were initially invented to be used within the bicycle, including ball bearings, pneumatic tires, chain-driven sprockets and tension-spoked wheels.
