Hello everyone and welcome to my blog at this time.
I will be talking about a popular saying that says "Don't give me fish, teach me how to fish". This saying has some deep meaning and looking closely you'd realize it is one of the best saying on earth.
I would shed more light into what the saying "Don't give me fish, teach me how to fish" mean by telling a short story.
Ben is the third child from the family of six - three girls and three boys. It's always difficult for Ben and his siblings to eat and enjoy good life. Ben works in a construction company as a laborer. He helps to move sand, water, cement and blocks to the location of the site where it will be used. He works so much but he earns little income.
On a sunny Friday afternoon while he was working on site the owner of the building he was working on visited with his family to inspect and see the progress. Luckily for him, the owner of the building was the father of his High School colleague - Chris. Ben was happy to see his friend. They started talking and exchanged contact. Chris's father told Ben to come and see him at home on Sunday since he will not be going to work.
"Good afternoon sir", Ben greeted when he got to Chris's house. Welcome Ben, Chris father replied. He then offered to help Ben so that he would have a better life. He gave him two options to pick from. The first one was to pay him a certain amount of money every month (for doing nothing) or he'd work for him as his Secretary in his multinational company. This offers were tricky and everyone present felt Ben would go for the lazy man offer. But he shocked them all by saying "Don't give me fish, teach me how to fish". Chris's dad was confused and asked him what he meant. Then he said he would like to learn how to work and earn his own money and also help other people like Chris father is about to help him rather than collecting money for doing nothing.
Everyone was thrilled by Ben's response and he was told to resume with immediate effect on Monday. Ben started working as a Secretary in Chris dad's company and he grew up in the ranking and now he's the General Manager in that establishment. Thank goodness for his wise decision.
Make a wise decision today.
Don't be a pest and parasite.
Be productive.
Be like Ben.
