Grab, Lock and Break The Attacker's Hand

Only learning some self defense techniques without knowing when to use it and against what kind of attack is not going to help you in a fight for self defense. Grabbing and locking is very useful in some situations.

If you want to stop the attacker or make some damage, you can grab and lock the attacker's hand, legs, and other parts of the body.

Welcome to Self Defense Review.

Every situation is different and you cannot fit one thing in every situation. What works in one situation, that might not work in another situation. When you fight for self defense, your move should be based on the situation.

I'm going to share a video where you will see the locking and breaking hands technique. I will mention the specific time from where you can watch. This is not my video and all video credit goes to Shahabuddin karate.

From 2:07 to 3:52 Minutes

Let's talk about when this technique will work very well and when you will not find it that useful. It is important to know that so that you can use it properly.

If the attacker does straight punch, it comes to the straight and hits your body and moves back. It is not going to come from the side. You might try to grab the attacker's hand, but it will not work very well. Moreover, if the attacker punches you and gets back his hand quickly (the attacker will do that for sure), you might not able to grab his hand or, you will find it difficult to do that.

If the attacker strikes you and it comes from the side, you will find this technique useful. It would be easier to defend and grab the attacker's hand. Then you can apply pressure on his hand. You have to be fast. It is because the attacker will not keep his hand over there for you so that you can grab and break his hand.

Even if you grab the attacker's hand, you will do his best to release that. Every situation is different and the way the attacker makes his move, that can be different. So observe the attacker, make your move accordingly to defend yourself.
