I seldom write about the movies I've seen but whenever I do, that's because I was really moved by it. While there are movies that are entertaining; there are also movies that will leave me thinking about it for a few hours or days after watching it. One of them is "True Story".
The story revolves around the characters of Michael Finkel who is a New York Times journalist and Christian Longo who is accused of murdering his wife & 3 children in Oregon.
The main characters were not related nor personally haven't met each other until Christian Longo was apprehended by the police in Mexico. It turns out that Christian has been using Michael Finkel's identity while fleeing out of the US.
Someone mentioned it to Michael which led him to meet Christian for the first time to learn about him. Their conversation motivated Michael to find out more about Christian. What he didn't realize is that he delved into a game where lies, deception, and manipulation are the aces that he wasn't equipped on the day he first stepped into the room with Christian.
This is the kind of story that only seasoned actors can breathe life into it and show a fantastic performance in every sequence of the movie. I must say that James Franco & Jonah Hill did a great portrayal of the characters and they were able to sustain the thrill from the beginning until the end.
