NEW GARMENT

KEY VERSE:
"Provide for those who grieve..... a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor." (Isaiah 61:3, NIV)
MESSAGE:
Do you need a new garment today? Not a physical garment but a covering for your mind and emotions. When you feel that heaviness and discouragement are trying to overtake you, the first thing to do is take off the old coat of heaviness and put on a new coat of praise. When you put on the garment of praise, that spirit of heaviness must go. There are times you will not feel like being thankful to God because of situations around but God tells us to offer up the sacrifice of praise. God knew it would not always be easy but it is time to shout out, "God, I know you are good, so I choose to give you praise."
The Lord has appointed unto His elect days of liberation, days He will pour out His vengeance on all the waters of His People to comfort His own. Whatever the heaviness, the depression, the sickness, the backwardness, the stagnation, the bareness, just name it, that had weighed you down, the Lord has come with a change of garment of gladness instead of mourning and a garment of praise instead of your hopelessness.
Today is the day of new garment. Thank Him for restoring you, even if you do not see it yet. As this verse says, you will be called an oak of righteousness, strong and secure, and you will display the splendor of the Lord in a short while. For all that brought you shame, took away your sleep and made you wet your pillows, you shall receive double honour.
Note: When you put on the garment of praise, that spirit of heaviness disappears.
