How to provoke God's mercy:

You need mercy in your life, when mercy expires everything around you expires. We are alive by the mercy of God and nothing else matters but His mercy. We can't achieve anything without His mercy. It doesn't mean we are deserving, in fact, mercy's concept means we are undeserving.

  1. By showing gratitude for past mercies.
When you're grateful for yesterday's mercy you qualify for tomorrow's mercy. If you don't thank Him for past mercies, it shows you are taking His mercy for granted. Thankfulness depends on what is in your heart and not what is in your hand. Whatever you thank God for, appreciates.

  2. By asking for mercy.
Don't be ashamed of asking or begging for mercy. Even Jesus stopped at the cry for mercy as described in the Bible with the story of the blind man. The call for mercy isn't civil, the violent takes it by force. To get mercy, you have to ask for it, desperately, if you can. Ask, seek and know concept as written in Matthew 7:7 works for mercy too.

  3. By staying humble.
Humility is an acknowledgement of your humanity, it is also the acknowledgment of wrong doings. The higher God raises you, the lower your knees should be on the ground.
Any weakness you over rationalize, you cannot overcome.

  4. By showing mercy to others.
Anytime you show tolerance to the imperfection of others you sow a seed of mercy. Remember the story in the Bible of the servant that was forgiven of his debt but failed to show the same kindness to the person owing him? As we have received mercy, we are to give as well.

Cheers.
