In previous posts I have spoken to you about Barcelona as a city of art, cosmopolitan capital of a Spanish region or community such as the Catalan one, which boasts of its past, its present and its future. And of its sense of independence.

This autonomy and independence has been reflected over the centuries in an architecture of its own, revolutionary, fanciful and in some cases even irreverent, which has seen in Antoni Gaudi and Salvador Dalí, for example, two of its most important artistic representatives. Its two greatest exponents recognised worldwide.
Esa autonomía y esa independencia se ha visto reflejada a través de los siglos en una arquitectura propia, revolucionaria, fantasiosa y en algunos casos hasta irreverente que ha visto en Antoni Gaudi y Salvador Dalí, por ejemplo, dos de sus representantes artísticos de mayor relevancia. Sus dos máximos exponentes reconocidos a nivel mundial.
However, today I will share in #BLURT a walk different from the one I have done so many times looking at the historical buildings and monuments from top to bottom or vice versa trying to discover how many years of history are contained in their walls, their canvases, their pictures, their paintings.

And while it is not my intention to confront myself or any #blurtianwith Salvador Dali, it is obvious that getting up without any problems on the horizon and going for a walk through the streets of an unknown city (at least that was the first time I visited it) is a pleasant experience that I recommend to all the members of this community.
Y si bien no es mi intención confrontarme ni confrontar a ningún #blurtian con Salvador Dali es obvio que levantarse sin ningún problema en el horizonte y salir a caminar por las calles de una ciudad desconocida (al menos eso era la primera vez que la visité) es una agradable experiencia que recomiendo a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad.
For example, if we move away from the centre of the Catalan capital towards the north, we will see an unknown, unprecedented aspect of Barcelona, a rural essence that is very difficult to find on the outskirts of any other city or elsewhere in Barcelona itself.

Isolated from the historic city centre by the Besòs river, the railway and a handful of motorways leading to all the cardinal points of the country, we find a myriad of orchards and small farms bathed by the Rec Contal and by a series of canals that began to be built shortly after the Second World War to carry water underground to the centre of Barcelona, but in this northern part of the city the canals have been left uncovered, allowing them to be used for agricultural purposes.

When Barcelona was founded by the Romans in the 10th and 15th centuries BC under the name of Iulia Augusta Faventia Paterna Barcino, its surface area was limited to a few streets surrounding what is now Plaza Sant Jaume. It would probably have taken a matter of minutes to cover it on foot. Today it takes a little longer. But it can still be done.
Cuando Barcelona fue fundada por los romanos en los siglos X y XV a.C. con el nombre de Iulia Augusta Faventia Paterna Barcino su superficie era limitada a algunas calles que rodean lo que hoy es Plaza Sant Jaume. Probablemente recorrerla a pie hubiera sido cuestión de minutos. Hoy se necesita algo más de tiempo. Pero igual se puede hacer.
