In real life if we take companies as an existing example, buying shares of a company suggests you believe in the long term growth of the company and that you have faith that it will grow into something great. Holding more shares of the company also gives you more of a say in decisions on what passes and what doesn’t in the company.

Buying BLURT is almost equivalent to this scenario. But not just buying Blurt, but powering it up as an investment and to build your account value and voting power. Building your BLURT POWER also gives you more influence in Blurt.

What do I mean by investing and building your account value? Well let’s look at it this way: right now(at the time of writing this post, 1 BLURT is $0.025 . If you were to buy 100 BLURT at this price, you’ll be buying all the 100 BLURT for only $2.5 .

Now say in a year time, 1 BLURT is $0.5 (I’m very optimistic and positive BLURT can get here and maybe even above in a year time. You might not share my optimism but that’s okay). Your 100 BLURT which was a $2.5 investment is now worth $50. That is a huge profit made there.

Let’s talk about how powering up increases and builds your voting power. Everyone on BLURT understands that the more BLURT POWER you have, the more BLURT you’re able to give people when you vote them. Blurt Whales give the most because of their ginormous BLURT POWERs.

As we sit, I am able to give somewhere around 0.14 BLURT with a 100% upvote. We can all agree that is not much to give, but this because my BLURT POWER at this time is extremely small( I have 1,700BP). I continuously power up all the BLURT I earn from my postings and will start buying BLURT to perform Power Ups starting tomorrow.

On the other hand, I have seen whales give as much as 500BLURT with one 100% upvote(I’m pretty sure some can give more, but this is what I’ve seen)

One very important thing about building your BLURT POWER is that it helps grow your following and gives your posts more engagement. Let’s take a practical example: Whales with huge BLURT POWERs sometimes upvote good comments on their posts and this motivates a lot of people to make good and productive comments and their posts. More people are likely to follow you if you’re more capable to giving them good upvotes.

What Is #BPUD and Why Should You Participate?

Blurtians who are familiar with Steemit and Hive understand the whole concept of a Power Up Day(PUD). For Steemit, there’s STEEM Power Up Day(SPUD) & and Hive Power Up Day(HPUD) for Hive.

BPUD is simply Blurt Power Up Day. It is a contest and a grand occasion here born by @randula and is getting good response from many Blurtians include myself and some witnesses.

This contest starts for the first time in 2 days time on 1st February, 2022. The contest will involve Blurtians powering up, and a winner will he selected based on the percentage increase their power up has caused their BLURT POWER. 1st runner up can win up to about 7,000BP delegation for 25 days, and all participants will receive upvotes with different percentages from @kamranrkploy .
