THE STORY OF ME

in blurtpoem •  2 years ago  (edited)

I was Lost out at sea
Gasping and Drowning
For I couldn't swim
With Nothing within my reach
Fighting to breathe

My arms were weak
Same as my spirit
My eyes were dim
My stomach fill
For I had an ocean to drink

Unable to scream
Unable to think
I could barely see
Scared as life itself flee's
About to give in

Just then I felt a hand
" I'm Love this stranger says.
Take my hand and this I promise
Through every storm I'll stay
From the dark of night
To the brightest day
From the monsters fright
In my arms you'll be safe
Take my hand and save yourself
*Love's the helper you prayed for
Here I am
I am all you need and more "

Still Drowsy.. I did ask
"Would I be a slave
Would freedom be tied down to your name
Would my wrist be free of your chains
Would love not be a cage
Should I desire change
Am I free to walk to away
Or would there be a prize to pay ? "

Before *Love could answer
I jumped back in
Yes still unable to swim
Yet I had peace
Wispering the words "I slave I'll never be"
Even in death I'll be free
With a smile, I sink into the oceans abyss
This is the story of Me.
