POEM: October Rises

Poem title: October Rises

Breathe in this crisp morning.

October rises in her colorful dressing gown,

the perfect embodiment of refreshing Spring

mixed with peaceful Wintertime.

Her cool breezes blow leaves like confetti, to swirl about her hair.

Pale eastern sunlight sparkles, like dew brushed lightly upon her brow.

A blush of colored fallen leaves

glaze her tawny cheeks,

like the browning of the summer grass

bronzed with a scarlet-golden sheen.

Treetops stippled with bold color,

draped across her shoulders like a shawl.

Appear splattered against a clear blue sky;

while from her slender fingertips, woodland songbirds call.

Their distant voices echo on sunbeams,

exhaled from her balmy lungs.

Her spicey Autumn breath infused

with musky pine and cinnamon.

Fall is settling in.

with her cleansing energy,

to refresh our wilted inner peace

with her bright vitality.

Transform our solemn spirits;

now with Autumn's morning glory embark.

Let October's calming exuberance

fill our anxious, weary hearts.
