Foreign Nurse in Germany

Working as a foreign nurse in Germany has a lot of ups and downs. These advantages and disadvantages are based mostly from my experiences. I arrived here in Germany last Winter of 2020. I was accompanied by two other Filipinos. I could still remember the first day I arrived in this country. I was excited but anxious because it was my first time to work abroad, away from my family and friends. Upon arriving at the airport of Berlin, we were anxiously waiting for somebody to pick us up. Then, we met our colleague. He was a Syrian and he has lived in Germany for quite some time. I was timid and talked less because I do not understand some of the words he was saying. He spoke little English. He gave us a piece of bread, a banana and a bottle of sparkling water. We drove for almost 3 hours from the Berlin airport to our accommodation in Schwerin. While driving, I was fascinated by the houses and other structures. The houses look very different from the houses in my hometown. After almost 3 hours, we arrived at our accommodation. We were then greeted by our German colleague, Mr Bemdt. He was a very kind person. Although I understood only 70% of what he was saying, I was grateful that he made us comfortable.
