Christmas holidays can be a beautiful thing
A time of soulful reflection in the ways of love
Let the browns and hues of nature take over
From the bling, as we meditate on our empathic selves

Generosity is folding outwards
Blossoming as flower petals do
Ego and entitlement are folding inward
We become more alive and unique

Christmas holidays are a time of love
Inherited the Earth without a box or tag
Gather our strength to start anew
A spirit that embodies altruistic love

To celebrate Christ and what is birth signaled to us all
Given a message of love to carry through the ages
To carry ourselves with such stoic grace and dignity
To protect others, to give gladly the spirit of togetherness

Family traditions, silk weave us into the fabric of times
Uniting our past, present, and future years
A sense of joy, a steady sense of calm
Sharing of genuine heartfelt emotion

The holidays became better when we made it ourselves
Really honored who we were and what we love
Simplicity rooted humanity, the world of tainted money
And purge those shrill and greedy voices

Amid the bounty of gifts, family and friends has brought
The brightness that warms each bright cool day
A night to dwell on the example of Christ
And not fall to the ways of greed

To truly follow a man who was born into poverty
Never sought riches, only to speak of love with wisdom
Both lamb and lion, soft-hearted yet with an Almighty roar
And make his Heavenly Father proud

Christmas for this soul is the chance to be with you
You are what brings me to merriment, you are the kindling
The flame and the starry-noble black night
For my Christmas is love, that is my choice to make
