Both smoking and vaping have their own short and long-term health risks that users must be aware of. Recently, vaping has taken over the market, with younger people as their primary market. Vape companies have successfully concealed the real effects of vaping on the body. Meanwhile, smoking has long since gained a bad reputation as a cancer-inducing practice that has killed millions worldwide.
Vaping or Smoking?
As a new practice, vaping still needs more studies and research exploring its effects on the body. Meanwhile, health experts asserted that the large amounts of nicotine in e-cigarettes could damage the lungs. E-cigarettes also contain toxic chemicals such as diacetyl, heavy metals, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are harmful to the body.
There has been a strong link between vaping to cancer development and a weak immune system. Children and teenagers who vape may also suffer from delayed or stunted brain development.
Meanwhile, for decades now, experts have been urging smokers to quit smoking. Along with other agencies, the CDC has kept robust backup data supporting the harmful effects of smoking on our bodies. Studies recorded that smoking has been the leading cause of lung cancer deaths and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Smokers may also get heart disease and may suffer from stroke in the long run.
Are you planning to conceive a baby with a partner?
Then, stop smoking! Regular smoking negatively affects sperm count and decreases the chances of pregnancy. Nicotine may also affect other organs in the body, such as the kidneys and the stomach.
Many people use vaping as an alternative to smoking. However, experts warned that this behavior might only heighten cravings to smoke again. Meanwhile, the debate continues, and the public wants to know which is more harmful, smoking or vaping?
Then again, one must understand that vaping is still new in the market, and researchers are still conducting studies about its long-term effects. But vapers may find relief to know that vaping has fewer short-term effects than smoking. Then again, if one has better ways to spend their free time, they should spend it on something more fruitful and healthy. And definitely, not into vaping or smoking!
