Safari part I

I took these photos a few years back but for some reason never did anything with them and hardly edited any of them. I found them on my hard drive today and felt like I wanted to go through and see what I had. This was such an incredible trip to Addo elephant park. I was with a local to south Africa so felt pretty safe with his awareness of being able to read the animals and if they were aggressive or calm etc. Having said that when I look at some of my photos in hindsight it's almost one of those experiences of thinking did I really do that? perhaps I wouldn't do it again lol. The main thing is to notice for signs of musthing, which is when a bull elephant elephants displays highly aggressive behaviour which, is accompanied by a large rise in reproductive hormones (up to 60 percent more and right up to 140 times the normal level). There are signs you can observe that let you know if the bull elephant is in musth and might turn aggressive. Although these are wild animals and no one knows for sure, being aware of how to read animal behaviour and signs can save a potential incident.

I didn't have a decent zoom lens and these were mostly shot with an 85 mm lens for some perspective!

These are the big elders with the long tusks and huge stature.

Lots more to come.

Oh wow nature is indeed beautiful.
You took this shot?? It’s really cool, brave and scary as well.
Being able to read the behaviours of these animals can be tricky, one wrong move and you’re at risk.
Knowing myself I’ll feel very scared to even go close or take a photo.

Well, I love your photos
Blurt on🚀
