Happy new Year Blurt Friends..
I share with you the preparations I made on the eve of the new year. It is our tradition to prepare meals when the new year comes.
![IMG20211231093153.jpg]() It was only the morning of December 31, that we were busy with our various jobs. Cleaning the outside and inside of our house, washing cooking utensils and buying ingredients for cooking for the new Year.Dad was shoveling wood, my younger brother was sweeping the outside of our house and I was fetching water for washing dishes and other kitchen utensils.
My mom went to the Market to buy some leftovers at home including the missing ingredients for cooking macaroni. While I waited for mom to arrive, I prepared the kitchen utensils so I wouldn't have to delay cooking later.
After a while, mom arrived bringing macaroni ingredients. I put it on top of the refrigerator and we started cooking.
We also buy fruits because according to our ancestors, it seems lucky. The circles of fruits to be placed on the table, it seems to bring good luck to the whole family. These are our beliefs, but also accompanied by hard work and self -dedication.
We bought mangosteen, Apples, Lanzones and small oranges which we called, Kyat-kyat. We put it on the plate and laid it on the table including the sliced bread and its stuffing.
Our spaghetti was already cooked, we intended to cook the meals early so that those who wanted to eat could eat even before the new year arrived. It's also one of my favorites, I stuff it with sliced bread and my food tastes good.
To make the spaghetti more flavorful, mom put cheese on top of it and milk to make it creamy.
On the other hand, our neighbor was celebrating her son’s birthday. They invited us and I was very happy. Here in our area, lechon is very fashionable and popular. This is the tradition and is called one of the PINOY FOODS.
Just before dawn on December 31, the pork was slaughtered to be cooked by 8 o'clock in the morning. A variety of guests, friends and relatives have arrived. Happy everyone who greets each other. While others have already started drinking alcohol.
It is also our tradition here that if there is leftover food, give it to the neighbors and one of us. I am so thankful for the grace given and I added it putting it on the table.
Our celebration of the new year brings happiness, family unity and hope for the coming year 2022.
Happy new year everyone ..
