I was planning to post this at a later date, but recent developments prompted me to officially post it.
Last Aug. 28, I decided to run my BLURT witness node. This is the first time I've run one for a graphene-based blockchain. I believe my willingness to learn will be my asset to become an effective one.
Background
I'm a software developer and have been in the IT industry for 16 years. I've mostly handled web and embedded systems. I joined STEEM on August 2017. I see the potential in BLURT and would like to be part in its development.
What can I contribute as a Witness?
I'm looking to contribute to BLURT mainly through #blurtopian. But as stated in the BLURT witness readme, "...there is a formal expectation that Witnesses advocate for the Blurt blockchain, review software, and build the Blurt community."
I'm willing to take on those roles as well.
Why run as a witness?
I believe that the more effort you put into something, the more likely you'll stick with it long-term. Consider this as me fortifying my commitment.
