Today I temporarily disabled deduction to credits when receiving notification. The reason for this is that I received feedbacks of receiving duplicate notifications. I still haven't gotten into the root cause of the bug as such, I am disabling credit deductions for notifications. I'm also planning to revamp/refactor the code base to make it easier to maintain.
For now, credits can be used to upgrade to premium accounts.
Bruno - A Blurt Discord Notification Bot
Bruno aims to contribute to Blurt's economy by adding service which uses Blurt to pay for services. Similar to how @blurtlink deducts transaction fees when you transfer to and from hive engine.
1. How to Register and Be Notified by Bruno
- First, please join Blurtopian Server (https://discord.gg/25t7G3uhWB)
Bruno currently resides in Blurtopian's discord server.
This invite brings you directly to the #bruno channel. - Inside the #bruno channel, type
!reg <username>.
Replace<username>with your Blurt account. - You should received a direct message from @BrunoBot.
- Upon successful registration to the system, you're given an initial 1500.01 credits.
A credit is deducted each time you receive a notification(temporarily disabled). - Type
'!help'on the commands available or!infoto know the status of your account.
2. How to Buy Credits
!help gives us the command to buy credits. But before you're able to buy credits, you need to generate a pin for your account.
To do this you need to:
- Send a direct message to brunobot with the command
!generate_key - Bruno bot will generate a key for you. Use this key as memo when sending blurt to @brunobot using your blurtwallet.
One credit is currently priced at 0.01 BLURT.
3. How to Upgrade to a Premium Account
Bruno offers premium features to its premium subscribers. To upgrade to a premium account, you need to have at least 1000 credits.
To upgrade to a premium account, just follow these steps:
- Send a direct message to BrunoBot with the command
!upgrade - If you have enough credits, BrunoBot will notify you of your successful subscription upgrade.

4. Benefits of a Premium Account
- Premium accounts enable you to get notifications when authors or accounts make posts or comments. Non-premium accounts only get notifications for followed tags.

Seems like an age ago, we were going to work on some of the formulas and features of https://bi.blurt-now.com/ such as the diversity index, and maybe add some other useful metrics.
Cool. bi.blurt-now.com is currently down. I've switched servers. Some apps aren't running yet.
But your plan is to keep it up in the future?
Could be a good place for users to make more sense of some chain metrics.
eg the things I post every week could quite easily be logged as time-charts.
Yes, I plan to improve it architecture first. The initial version just takes too much database storage it's hard to maintain. I store / duplicate what is stored in the blockchain. But I don't think it's needed for the time being.
I already have an architecture in mind to replace the current one.
