Blurtopian Dev: Blurt Wallet Updates

This is to give an update on the recent changes to Blurtwallet. As announced by @blurtofficial in this post, @blurtlink is now being replaced by the official swap token SWAP.BLURT.

As you may have witnessed in Blurt's discord, some are still sending their Blurt to the @blurtlink account and do not get the appropriate amount reflected to their Hive Engine account.

To prevent further mistransfers, we opted to improve the Blurt wallet validation through this PR.

1. Pull Request

Changes were merged through this PR.

https://gitlab.com/blurt/blurt/-/commit/2b4ac4eb189d87b8349b74e99c4ca10e7ea8e1cf

2. Code Change Summary

  1. Added new validation messages
    1. suspended_exchange : "This exchange account is no longer active."
    2. invalid_memo : "Memo for deposits to Hive-Engine/Tribaldex should start with SWAP.BLURT."
  2. Added custom validation to ui/wallet/src/app/utils/ChainValidation.js
    1. Check if exchange account is suspended (not sure if this is the correct term or label for it, but it's the closest I came up with)
    2. Validate memo when the account to transfer to is blurt-swap
  3. Updated the list of Verified Exchanges
    1. Some exchanges still doesn't support Blurt, as such, I decided it better to prevent users sending their Blurt to these exchanges until the latter supports Blurt

3. Demo

I created this quick video to demonstrate the changes.

Screenshots are also available in the PR indicated above.

Good work.

Just to clarify because I thought I saw mention of it somewhere. What if we are holding blurt in HIVE Engine now. Do we send it back to our wallet then then send it back to HIVE as swap?

If we need to send blurt back to our wallet do we still use blurtlink for that, and that one time only?

Good work.

Hello @leifasaur, thanks for the feedback.

Just to clarify because I thought I saw mention of it somewhere. What if we are holding blurt in HIVE Engine now. Do we send it back to our wallet then then send it back to HIVE as swap?

There are two routes depending on the risk you want to take.

  1. Wait for @yehey's response to honor withdrawals of old Blurt from HE to your Blurt wallet. Without @yehey's confirmation, it's possible that you won't receive the old Blurt you send to @blurtlink (you won't receive it in you Blurt wallet).
  2. The route you mentioned - sell your current holdings of the old Blurt in HE to convert them to HIVE, then buy SWAP.BLURT. To move SWAP.BLURT to your Blurt wallet, you use the Withdraw functionality in Tribaldex. Please refer to @zahidsun's post regarding this.

Please see item #2 above. If you've already sold your old Blurt to hive then buy SWAP.BLURT, then you use Tribaldex's Withdraw function in your Tribaldex wallet.

If this is not the case and you still hold old Blurt in your HE wallet and you want to withdraw to your Blurt wallet, then you need to wait for @yehey's confirmation that old Blurt withdrawals are working.
