The following are a few shots we took on a quick drive around town.

While this smoke is terrible and I hope it is gone soon. It pales in comparison to the lives that have been lost and forever changed, and the entire towns that have been destroyed by these fires. Hopefully with rain forecast for Monday and Tuesday the fires can be contained and people can return home and begin the arduous task of rebuilding their lives.

Very sad indeed.

The smoke moved into North Idaho. I have to wear a mask I use for my wood-shop to keep dust out of my lungs. It works well with the smoke issue. This is the time of the year I look for the fall rains to begin. It will help clear the air and reduce fire danger. Most of the smoke we are having is from Washington, Oregon, and California. There are a few fires close by me, but none threating to my property.

We are starting day 5 of unhealthy to hazardous air quality. Rain is forecast for the end of the week. Probably not enough to put out the fires but might give us some healthy air for a couple days.

We had to evacuate for 5 days a couple years ago for a nearby fire. Not a fun experience. Things are so dry here it just makes me nervous to think of a fire breaking out nearby.

Any way, I hope you and yours stay safe and fire/smoke free! :)
