My Property - Utah Series #1

in blurtography •  4 years ago

These are from a trip I took to Utah back in 2010. Going to share them in a series of posts. Here is the first stop. :)

These are the views from a small piece of property left to me by my parents. Since I hadn't been here since the '60s on a family vacation, I thought seeing the property was a good excuse for a road trip to Utah. I think my dad bought it in 1960 for about $300. According to the tax statement it is worth about 5x that now. So as you can see I am quite the land baron. lol. I have often fantasied about building a yurt here and living off grid, but until the complete collapse of society (maybe sooner than I think) that probably aint going to happen. :)

About 30 miles from here over that mountain range is Cedar City, UT.

Snow capped peaks in the distance.

I guess the biggest question about this picture is... pants or no pants. Luckily for a well positioned bush, no one will ever have to know the answer! :) Not taken by me.

All photos taken by me with a Fujifilm Finepix A210 except where noted, with some Lightroom post processing.

Thanks for looking and enjoy your day!

Thanks for sharing this. Pretty nice photos of the desert. I would love to visit one day.

You are welcome! The desert can have its own special beauty if you are willing to appreciate it. :)
The next posts in the series will be a little more about the rock formations in the parks.

Nice photos man. Did you do anything with your land or is it just sitting around, land being land.

Thank you!

It's just land being land right now. The property is only 2.5 acres and there must be a couple hundred lots. As you can see, no one is rushing to develop it. :)

It can be some nice camping land. It would be like being home, without being home 😂

I think that's what people do. Bring their horses and ride the open range. :)
