I would like to introduce myself to BLURT, which seems like a great place to blog about photography. Years ago, I was very interested in film photography, I had several 35mm cameras, including "toy" cameras like fisheyes. Over time, I sort of gave up the dream of being a film photographer hold out. It was a lot of work, time and money. Especially after the local camera and development places all closed down. Instead of going digital, I retired [my hobby].
Recently, I found a single roll of 35mm film in some old boxes. It made me wish I still had some cameras left. I've thought about getting some disposable cameras because i love the way you can get compositions to turn out with those. Then I guess I would have to mail out to get it developed, which would be even more expensive than before. Still might be worth it for a few great looking photographs!
For now, I have been taking photographs with my phone, which I do actually enjoy. I'm not a purist, despite really liking 35mm. You can get some great shots with Iphones, the light adjust is quality [except for nighttime] and the autozoom is great as well. You can even trick the auto zoom to get super close. I have even added small lenses to iPhones and created micro cameras.
With this channel [@mycamera] I hope to make a few bucks with my photography, hopefully enough to at least send in for some disposable cameras and get them developed once in a while. I might even rebuild my camera collection. At least get a few toy cameras. Maybe some digital stuff too? I also would like to get some experimental photography going ... get a raspberry pi with a fisheye ... build some camera obscuras etc. Join me on my journey?
