This Is What Our "Walmart" Truck Looks Like.

Take note of the truck ontop of the Sea-Can

When you live on an Arctic Island in the middle of Nowhere, Canada supplies come by two methods. Airplanes or twice a year boat delivery. Today after work, I was surprised to see two ships in the bay, as I heard they were behind schedule and not showing up until Friday. The big freight ship is called the Nunalik and the smaller Coast Guard Boat bears the markings "Captain Molly Kool." Which is a pretty cool name to be helping deliver goods to the arctic circle, if you ask me.

The Freight ship unloads the Sea cans to one of two barges and then small tugboats take the barges to shore where they push it up against the shore and front end loaders then offload the goods to shore. From there it is a mad rush to empty the containers as fast as possible so that they can be put back onto the ship. Otherwise, the shipping company charges you for the container, which I've heard is over $5,000!

My wife and I ordered a bunch of Dog food that may possibly be on this boat. We ordered a bunch of pop as well since the price of that up here is INSANE. Although, since we've come up here it's been easy to stop drinking Soda-pop. Admittedly, my wife barely drank it to begin with lol. I am excited to get our stuff and look forward to not having to buy expensive dog food that is flown in Mid-March.

wow almost like you're in another world. I'm in the south end of Canada,..and to think of ordering pop as a luxury is kind of a mind blow. I guess we are spoiled down here. Would love to see more pictures of the arctic circle on Blurt.
