Taking the scenic route...

I actually can't believe how contrasting today's weather was compared to yesterday. Late afternoon yesterday felt and looked like there was going to be a massive storm heading our way and then today... another bloody cooker!!!! I am literally sitting here melting as we speak. Tried cooling off with a swim but the second you get out you are dry and melting again lol. Here is a pic of yesterday's rather moody and gloomy atmosphere lol... even the wine of the day was fitting... although I will say that as always, the sunset did eventually grace us with its presence and as always it was magnificent.

Before the heat took over, we headed down to town to go get meat and salads for tonight's braai... yes, even in this heat us South Africans will opt to sit around the fire haha - call us crazy, lol but any weather is good for a braai... or at the very least open flame. I know @offgridlife will agree with me.

Enroute to town (that being Just before Hermanus) there is an obscure little sign on the side of the road saying "scenic drive", so after we had all the necessaries we decided to take a detour and see what it was all about...

As the "scenic drive" began, it didn't really look like much and I even joked about the magnificent wall and electric fencing which was staring us in the face, but as we meandered up the mountain we were greeted with the most spectacular views of the bay down below. Sadly, as always - the photos do not do it justice.

I would really love to have taken a little more time to do some macro photography of the beautiful fynbos, but alas I am a bit of a sissy and before even getting out the car several snakes had crossed our path and I did NOT feel like meeting one directly whilst in slip slops haha! But anyway it was still worth the detour to see those gorgeous views.

Anyhoo, it's braai time! Catch you all later. Hope everyone had (or is having) an amazing Thursday! Too hot for a red today, so a chilled rosé it is... cheers!

❤❤❤

Until next time...
Much Love from Cape Town, South Africa xxx

It amazes me how much the environment looks like the dry climate and geography of Arizona, yet has that much water. It all evaporates in Arizona.

A beautiful area, thank you for sharing.
