Today, when I left home, I found an insect perched on the wall. I thought it was a butterfly, but thanks to Google Lens, I can identify this insect as a moth.
From what I have read, this visit is a bit unusual as these insects are nocturnal, so I found it curious to find it perched on the wall in broad daylight.
Anyway, I took advantage of its visit to photograph it and add it to my gallery of curious animals.
I have tried to look for information on this month, but it is scarce. Its name is Amastus aconia. It is a specimen about 4 cm long. Its wings were more than half the volume of its body. It is an insect with antennae coming out of its rather hairy head.
It is curious how this insect can remain vertically attached to the wall, but if you look closely at the pic at the end of each leg, it has some sort of hook that allows it to accomplish this feat.
When the photo session was over, I took a dry leaf, carefully removed it from the wall, and took it to the garden to feed in a more favorable habitat and continue on its way.
