Blue City Lights in a Silent Night

in blurtography •  4 years ago  (edited)

One of the remarkable things to find in the street of Singapore is the effort they put in beautifying the public spaces. The way they do it is to enhance the structures & landscape with lights; LED lights in particular. There are plenty of them in every corner of the city which makes this place as alive as it can ever be.

I really miss walking on the streets at night and stop-by on every interesting spot to simply take photos of the scene. And since it's a public place, nobody will disturb me for as long as I don't bother them as well. In this city, you can be carefree and free to do everything for as long as it's within the bounds of the law.

To give you an example, you may anything along the street but you can never eat a chewing gum; it's an oddly specific rule that I don't suggest anyone break. There will be penalties for doing so. Also, never liter anything on the street; again there will be penalties for that. The bottom line is that do everything you want for as long you abide by the law!

So, going back to the city lights, I would like to feature some of the photos that I took while roaming the streets of Singapore at night.

Firstly, the City Hall area. In front of the City Hall MRT station is the newly renovated shopping mall and beside it is the Capitol Theater. In front of the theater is the newly built water fountain that is designed to be interactive. Even the lights that were installed underneath the fountain is playfully working with the movement of the water jets.

The lights are changing colors on every interval and I just happen to shoot the view while it's blue.

For the next photo, I would like to showcase the only suspension bridge found in Singapore. It's also one of the oldest bridges. While observing this scene, I actually think that it sits nicely in its surroundings. On its right is the Fullerton Hotel, a building that features an array of stunning classical ornaments and features.

The bridge is 79m (259 ft) long and it spans across the Singapore River. I'm pleasantly amazed at the way the bridge was preserved over the years. It was also retrofitted with modern LED lights that also features interactive changing hues.

Again, I just happen to take the photo while it's blue. A lucky shot indeed.
