These are a kind of grass. The place is a village called Beraberia away from Kolkata city in West Bengal. Here in a wetland inside the village these tall grasses have grown. We usually see grass on the ground most of the time.

However, there are some species of grasses that grow above water. Similarly, the grasses of this species have grown in bunches on the water here. This is why this species of grass is commonly called water grass.

Grasses that grow on the ground are small, medium and tall. However, these water grasses grow lying on the water and they spread very fast from one place on the water to the other.

These grasses are very dense and very long above the water but they are not understood as they are lying down. Grasses of any species are evergreen, but when cut, they dry out and turn white.

Grass is the favorite food of livestock. Grass is again planted in different playgrounds. This water grass is found all over the world and some of these species can survive well in water. These water grasses again play a helpful role in controlling the water level.

These water grasses are also considered to be the habitat of many fish. Water grasses are again considered to be an important part of the ecosystem.

These water grasses are used for various ornamental crafts in many places due to their length. Water grasses have a kind of flower at certain times.
