Looking at the recent comments by New York's ex governor Cuomo, for example - when trying to be held account for potentially killing hundreds thousands of people during the covid con because of his decisions.......
Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo told members of Congress on June 11 that he was not responsible for an order requiring nursing homes to accept residents discharged from hospitals even if they still had COVID-19, according to lawmakers in the room.
Narcissists HATE (in fear of) being held accountable for any past actions...Children don't like that at all.
A narcissist lives in a 'child like' reality, remember.
Hence the temper tantrums (or narcissistic rage), when held accountable using historical, empirical evidence, to illustrate where they were wrong or lied.

Mr. Cuomo did “tell us that he did not know that this directive existed, that he did not authorize it, that his department of health commissioner did not authorize it, that somehow it just popped up from an unknown staff member.
....“The governor finds out about this directive that kills thousands of seniors a month later,” she said. “And he did not do an internal investigation to find out who this lowly staff member, who’s still unknown, who that person was? That to me is unconscionable.”
The narcissist will go to great lengths to avoid accountability.
In this case, 'doing nothing' was the best action.
More than 15,000 nursing home residents in New York state 'died from COVID-19', according to state data.
The numbers were adjusted upward after Mr. Cuomo left office and several state agencies found the Cuomo administration had undercounted nursing home deaths.

Mr. Cuomo appeared before the U.S. House of Representatives Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic under a subpoena. (i.e, non voluntary).
Mr. Cuomo also said that he wouldn’t change the directive, knowing what he knows now, but would, looking back, have communicated about it more, according to members who were in the room.
The narcissist is always right.
To change his position would mean he was admitting he was wrong...bless...(the cognitive dissonance caused here would be extremely painful to the non narcissist).
It still occurs, even in the narcissist empty vacuum of non self awareness - but they're not even aware of the internal processes going on...

The kid's psyche in the adults body- with an adults freedoms - but with a child's lack of accountability, etc.. ('ego formation'is healthy and normal - essential in kids early on - we all go through it).
