George R.R. Martin and highway of the dragons

George R.R. Martin , author of the phenomenally popular Game of Thrones, has found another excuse to take a break from writing The Winds of Winter and will work with the HBO cable channel on a multi-episode adaptation of the Roger Zelazny novel Roadmarks.

The original sci-fi novel, published in 1979, tells the story of an unusual highway along which you can travel to another time or dimension. This road created by dragons can only be found by special people who have different ways to use this gift. Some travel through new worlds, and for some this highway may be the only chance to survive and rewrite the mistakes of the past.

George R.R. Martin (who had previously adapted Roger Zelazny’s Last Defender of Camelot for The Twilight Zone), is listed as executive producer of the project, the showrunner's chair is shared by Kalinda Vazquez (Star Trek: Discovery, Fear the Walking Dead) and Vince Gerardis (Game of Thrones).

I love Zelazny's novels, and certainly glad to see his works finally being sent to the screens.
