I think it'll be a 'techy glitch'- and not 'shady' (hopefully).

The point being, is that my (and your) mind went in that direction - not the 'oh, there's a glitch'.
...this is the thing I was showing....a fundamental lack of confidence in the platform - and all for very good reasons.
Continual (and ongoing) incompetent decision making, naturally leads to these thoughts...
...if you're not a gullible, naive moron, that is ! lol

The minimum expected is for a notice. The deal hear is putting our time and energy, reputation, data and traffic in exchange for crypto and liquidity. I agree its a problem and I hope a "glich" indeed though I did not see any info on the subject besides your post.

Indeed...the lack of any professionalism is telling.
(they seem to be far more interested in peddling social justice issues and controlling free speech, than maintaining an actual, functioning, blockchain).
