The vision for this song came about from Alberta Canada adopting far-right policies like they have in Florida, Premiere of AB says that she is a fan of DeSantis and so she is enacting laws and policies targeting Transgender Youth rights. So I made this song as part therapy, part fighting for the cause. I remember being bullied in Junior High for being different, many of the bully types listened to rap, so I found better rap. It was Hard-Style..and so imagined a Hard-Style rap for Queer and Trans Youth. I just imagined it up and directed an A.I. to make it. I really like how the experiment turned out!!
There have been many protests in Alberta. I thought of the idea even before I saw there were protests, just real happy there are and there were good turnouts. However the party UCP plans to implement the 'parental rights' laws immediately. ... Ya know I could just make more songs about it and fill in more details. There is lots I could right about. The A.I. helped me get into a flow and collage of genre. The music is hardstyle rap, also has dark and industrial elements to it. I liked the mixture in that. When I remember Tupac sometimes he would wear all black in interesting styles, so thought hard rap and industrial could be a good mix. I'm just experimenting with it all, just for fun.
The song begins and talks about trans-rights being taken, then speaks of resistance, then the Premiere, then tells the story at the end about the plight of homeless youth in Canada as 50% of homeless youth in Canada are LGBTQIA+. That's what makes the situation gross, all this scoring political points by demonizing minorities. Dark day for Alberta and other places too. We Are The Resistance!
I just put this out on bandcamp, also it will be on Spotify and YouTube soon
