1998 - Jason Nevins
Run-DMC VS Jason Nevins started a six week run at No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'It's Like That.' The Run-DMC track was from 1983 and was remixed by Jason Nevins, a US DJ and producer.

Phew, where to begin on this track? This was all over mainstream radio and in heavy rotation on music television at the time.

Jason Nevins? I never heard of him up until this point and I still don't know much. This remix hit big and will always be fondly remembered by me. The music video might be the deciding factor here.

A breakdance battle with two crews going head to head for the crown. These are the types of battles I love. Your crew might have a beef with another and the only way to resolve it is on the dance floor. The dance floor here looks to be in a warehouse or parking garage? I can't be sure.

Some nice vinyl flooring instead of cardboard to bust out your moves. Plenty of b-girl and b-boy action are here to admire. Don't forget your beanie in case you want to do some spins on your head. This is required attire.

A catchy remix of Run–D.M.C.'s It's Like That from the Godfather's of hip-hop. Updating a classic like this from 1983 requires something new and fresh. Paying homage to the originators with a battle on the dancefloor is the best way to celebrate this classic while bringing it to a new audience.

Be sure to remove the laces from your Adidas Superstars for that authentic look.

This was playing all over the neighborhood.

Jenny from the block told me all about it. I'll need to make a note of this song for another #blurtmusic

I think I used to play hopscotch with Jenny. Kids actually took out cardboard boxes in the alleys and had spin off competitions. We thought it was the end of turf battles. It didn't last long.

Oh. I forgot to add that the first video is a bunch of millennial posers. They might as well be actors.
