Blondie appeared at CBGB’s in New York City, under the name ‘Blondie’ for the first time. The name is derived from comments made by truck drivers who catcalled "Hey, Blondie" to Harry as they drove by.
Blondie is of course Debbie Harry and has appeared in quite a number of films too. A truly versatile woman.
Heart of Glass by Blondie is a classic and this video is like stepping into a timewarp. I love that cut on her. Is this pop music? I guess it is. There's something about her vocals flying high over top of the music. A true song of the 70s even though it was on the tail end.
How about some funny blonde jokes? We know blondes are more fun and can certainly take a joke.
Why can't a blonde dial 911? She can't find the eleven.
What other type of blondies are out there? Don't forget about the squares? Squares you say, yes the sweets. Brownies without the chocolate of course. You use brown sugar as the replacement.
I wouldn't mind eating a blondie square while listening to Blondie.
