Blurtmusic: Nothing from Nothing by Billy Preston

in blurtmusic •  3 years ago  (edited)

We are watching the 9 hour “The Beatles- Get Back” on the Disney Channel and I was astounded to watch the performance of Billy Preston on keyboards.

He happens to be in town when The Beatles are working on the new songs for their Let it Be show (and eventual album) …

He has never even heard the songs before.

John Lennon suggest that Billy listens to a few tapes to get an idea of the songs and George Harrison suggests he just improvise…

He sits down and joins in … improvising. And it is awesome. The recorded songs make the final cut on the Album.

So much talent.

This is a song from his solo career that I remember being played on the radio …

This guy could certainly make something from nothing.

Here is Billy playing keyboards on Don’t let me down.

For the 1st time

When you watch this film you see that it is when Billy joins them on keyboards they are finally able to Come together to make this wonderful music.

This is fabulous! I hope I have the Disney channel, a thing I have never hoped before. Great musicians are magicians.

Many of the clips are already available on YouTube.

Weird... I was watching that on Netflixs last night. There really is nothing on TV. My kids had a ton of questions. That's good.

It’s on Netflix too ? I watched it with my wife and kids … it was fun singing to the TV … trying to teach them the lyrics as they were inventing them…
