While the Elvis Birthday Proclamation Ceremony on Friday is already sold out, fans unable to attend can view the event for free via livestream on Graceland’s official Facebook page. Gate open for those in-person at 8:30am (2:30pm GMT) on January 8 for a 9am (3pm GMT) start.
Elvis Presley’s birthday comes around in the beginning of the year on January 8. Despite many people telling him he couldn’t hold a tune, he went on to become one of the most popular singers and performers in American history. Many Americans make the pilgrimage to Graceland, Presley’s former estate in Memphis, to celebrate the man and his life.
I love Elvis. My dad took me to what they say was his last concert in 1977 in Indianapolis (my childhood home). So many great songs to choose from, but this is one of my favorites here.
