National Freedom Day is February 1st. This is the day Abraham Lincoln signed the 13th amendment. The bill was passed by Congress on January 31st, but signed by the President the next day.

Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

I see a more resolved and peaceful Richie in 2009 but still thirsty for true freedom. He is filled with great energy and exuberant stage performance even at the age of 69.
