How do you celebrate the Wright Brother's Day when Corona prevents you from flying?

I have one suggestion: Fly away in your mind.

This special Day of December 17th commemorates the first successful flight of a machine that was heavier than air, mechanically propelled airplane.

These two brother Orville and Wilbur were bicycle mechanics but they made a propellor airplane that flew succesfully near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina on December 17, 1903.

I'm not so interested in watching a Wright Brothers documentary but I wouldn't mind getting into the spirit of the holiday with "I'll Fly Away" by Alan Jackson.

Some glad morning when this life is over
I'll fly away
To a home on God's celestial shore
I'll fly away
I'll fly away, oh, Glory
I'll fly away
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by
I'll fly away
Just a few more weary days and then
I'll fly away
To a land where joy shall never end
I'll fly away
I'll fly away, oh, Glory
I'll fly away
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by
I'll fly away
Yeah, when I die, Hallelujah, by and by
I'll fly away

So the original was written by Albert Brumley. He was born in Oklahoma before the dust bowl and wrote this song in hos twenties around the time of the great depression.

One way of understanding our times today is to go back in history a hundred years or so and check out what was going on. Many were looking to a hope that went beyong the present circumstance.

Here is a 1963 version of the song by Mississippi John Hurt. This is just my opinion, but version of the best fits the Spirit of the song.
