Welcome July and the dog days of summer.
Before this month was July it was called Quintilis but somehow it ended up July. How did that happen? The Roman Senate honored the Roman general Julius Ceasar with his own month. This was a pretty big clue that the general was wielding a little more power than other generals. It should have been a red alert but the Senate was swept away in love with this Julius Ceasar.
This story gets played in history again and again like a broken record. There is a new community and they honor one person. That person takes control and finally is stabbed in the back.
Welcome to July.
July is not all back stabbing and emperor flattering. There is some good still left in this month.
