A song with a Person's name. The song that stands out most is "Julia" by John Lennon.
Even before I knew what this song was about, I felt warm and peaceful when I heard it. Later I found it was really about John's mother Julia Lennon.
Before writing the song, John Lennon spoke to Donovan and said, "I want to write a song about the childhood that I never really had with my mother." (1) Donovan was the one who showed Lenon that finger picking style.
As far as the story goes Lenon lost his mom when he was five and had to stay with his aunt. Twelve years later his mother was killed by a car driven by a drunk off-duty police officer.
This is a unique song for the Beatles as this is the only song in which one of the Beatles sang and accompanied himself alone (3). Although there were other solo recordings they were accompanied by other Beatles. It is amazing what one man and a guitar can do.
