The 40 Year Old Virgin || Some exaggerations of good intentions

The majority of the jokes I watch in shows that I think are visual, such as cinema, stand-up, theater, etc. are below the belt and the majority laugh more at below the belt jokes. Although I don't know why, I include myself in this, maybe we like to watch and hear some taboos that cannot be spoken to the society!

Released in 2005, The 40 Year Old Virgin was remarkable as a romantic comedy movie full of below the belt jokes from beginning to end.

As I think the title of the movie suggests, Andy Stitzer (played by Steve Carell) is a 40 year old man who is still a virgin. When his friends at the tech store where he works find out, they try to do what they can for him.

Maybe not visually or actionally, but verbally the movie has a lot of disturbing scenes and almost all the jokes are based on a sexual theme based on Andy's virginity. In this respect, if you plan to watch the movie, you should be careful who you watch it with!

Personally, I liked the movie and filled my daily quota of laughs, maybe even weekly! Lolol. Steve Carell as a 40 year old virgin man was a sight to behold, in the moments when he becomes obsessed with sexuality; the way he takes charge and shows that sexuality is not everything was successful.

The parts I didn't like were the fact that his friends constantly put him through a series of manipulations and put pressure on him with a focus on cynicism. As a result of these manipulations and pressures, the fact that he sees almost everyone he sees (all women) as potential relationship candidates while walking on the street, which could be perceived as 'visual harassment' in real life, but in the movie, they remained as funny moments were contradictory moments. However, I am not too critical of those moments because maybe what made the movie so entertaining was the fact that they were dealt with from different perspectives!

Comparing the taboos dealt with throughout the movie with real life and evaluating it accordingly may reduce the enjoyment of the movie. That's why I often say that The 40 Year Old Virgin, which I think is one of the productions that fits the requirement of watching the theme of a movie as a movie, should be kept away from prejudices and social taboos.

It never hurts to smile while watching a story about a "virgin man". But if the story is considered from the point of view of the opposite sex, new criticisms that I didn't notice and didn't say can be revealed. This means that each point of view is right in its own way.

For me, it was a fun romantic comedy movie that will remain as subtle jokes in a fictional story.

The blind dates scenes is so funny. I was watching it with my headphones while my mother was looking on and she is commenting about the nip slip and made it double funny for me.
