Mastemah - The dangers of unleashed mental and emotional power

The movie Mastemah, which I watched tonight, is a thriller, horror genre production from 2022. To summarize the story of the movie briefly, Louise (played by Camille Razat), as part of her profession, travels into the mental and emotional worlds of people to uncover their inner strength and has to face the dangers that arise.

In a nutshell, the movie is about Louise and the chain of events that revolves around her, all united in a single story because there is only one connection to all the events; Louise! But each link of the chain contains its own mysteries, and when they come together towards the end, the truth is revealed. This makes the movie even more enjoyable with its mysterious ending, which it manages to hide until the last moment, and its twist ending.

Those who have seen the movie Inception will remember the attempts to plant an idea like a seed and let it flourish by entering the lower layers of the mind during the dreaming stage, when the mind is most vulnerable. I am not saying that Mastemah is a masterpiece, but it is about the ability to enter the mind and manipulate a person's consciousness and make them do many things, including ending their own life.

While the example movie uses dreams and their sub-layers, Mastemah uses the ability of hypnosis. There is no comparison in terms of acting, and if there is, I can say that it is far, far behind the movie Inception. It's not as enjoyable as Inception, but for those who like movies of a similar genre, I recommend watching it. I personally found the movie successful, but despite everything, the acting could have been better and made the movie more special.

For example, the second main character, Theo (played by Oliver Barthelemy) grinned too much throughout the story and was as bad as he could have been. I think if anyone was given his role, they could have done better than that.

I don't know to what extent it can be considered a coincidence that everyone around a psychiatrist loses their lives or that dark and mysterious things happen to him. At some point, when you think about the reasons, psychiatry can be seen as the prime suspect. At least that's what I think. I think that's the only shortcoming in the story, maybe it was accepted in the script that there would be some loopholes to give the movie extra mystery. In the story, these holes reduce the quality of the movie.

I think the criticism can change according to the person. The scenes that I think are grinning may make you more interested in the movie. In general, the movie is already successful, if the small details could be better calculated, the quality could increase and the movie could be more successful. I wish everyone who will watch the movie a good time!
