HollyBlood, as the name suggests, is a production that mocks Hollywood and Bollywood films. As far as I can remember, they blended several films and tried to create a film in the style of young love, comedy, romance.
I wanted to watch HollyBlood because I remembered the sarcasm and comedy in a horrible film series. The fact that it was a Netflix production in 2022 triggered my desire to watch it even more.
We often repeat that the account at home does not fit the bazaar. This promise took place for me this time while watching the HollyBlood film. If I have to explain the film in one word, it was "terrible" and definitely wasted 1 and a half hours.
I do not hesitate to say what I like or dislike about most of the films I watch and I argue that the concept of a good film is relative to the person. What is good for me may be bad for you or vice versa. There was not a single noteworthy scene, joke or positive reflection in terms of actor performance in HollyBlood. I don't want to be cruel, but I think you should definitely not watch the film or watch it if you think you have time to waste! Although I don't like to be sharp, I am aware that I am being sharp because the film was really bad.
You can make fun of a film, an actor, a script, you can make references, but you have to make sure that you do a good job. You can understand that the film is a Spanish production from some of the inspirations in the film. The rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona is unnecessarily added too much to the film, it works well in a scene and looks nice, but when you make the same joke over and over again, it gets stale and boring during the viewing.
You can't get a clear idea of what the film wants to do from the beginning to the end. Vampire films and the emphasis on loyalty are mocked, references are made to some youth films, but they are not aware that they themselves have built something worse.
I try to be positive and say a few nice things about the film. The only thing that comes to my mind is the scene where they go vampire hunting by tying sharp stakes to a baseball bat. I remember laughing there because they turned the baseball bat into a well-designed weapon with a subtle humour.
I think from now on I'll be colder towards productions that mock other films. If I have prior knowledge on the subject before I start watching, I'll try not to watch such productions. It's really a waste of time, why should we, as film lovers, watch a production that mocks films by its very nature? When I look at it from this point of view, I even blame myself for watching the film.
I think the best effect of the film was that it made me feel conscience towards other films. At least it was fun and enjoyable to watch mocked films. HollyBlood was not fun to watch! It was weird and I found this kind of production unnecessary. Especially when I compared it to some Netflix films I watched this summer, HollyBlood was not a production worthy of Netflix!
