The struggle for life can take different forms in different times and places. Sometimes the struggle can have more than one effect at the same time.
When such struggles are against nature, against living beings, against natural disasters or against other species, they become interesting and arouse my curiosity.
If it is a movie, I tend to watch it.
Made in 2022, Gold is one of the genres I mentioned and has high tension. The movie has a story that is played by 3-4 people for almost its entire duration and where greed and the desire to get rich come to the fore.
First of all, I would like to talk about what I found most interesting in the movie. In a time when it has become much more difficult to survive and to find a job, the radio news mentions that 1 Bitcoin is 1.25 million dollars. This is an incredible figure for crypto enthusiasts and a figure that the blockchain community aspires to realize in terms of the future. Even if it was in the movie, it got me excited for a while and caused a flashing dollar sign in my eyes. Lol
After a few halvings, maybe after a period of 10-15 years, we will actually see the numbers, which for now are just a scene in the movie!
For centuries, gold has been the safest haven for investors. It has held its value among the people since the time of historical records. Finding gold is one of the fastest paths to wealth.
The movie Gold has such a subject. After the company he barely finds a job with assigns him to guard a desert land, the man who goes to the area realizes that the mass he thought was a rock is gold, and together with the man who took him to the place he was supposed to protect, he wants to extract the rock and pass through the gate of wealth.
But those who know that too much of anything is bad, realize that sharing too much gold is just as bad as sharing none at all. The desire to have 100% instead of 50-50% turns into a struggle between the two and those who intervene later.
Andreas Sobik's acting as the gold guardian was excellent. He managed to take up 70% of the movie and he did a great job in the transition from the man who makes you walk away instead of even killing the scorpion that comes near him at the beginning to the man who chooses to kill the woman he thinks will steal the gold.
Everyone would like to be in such a great chance that a person can encounter only once in a lifetime, but there may be some who change their minds after watching the movie. Instead of being insatiable, being content with the piece that will provide a good life, understanding the difference between less and more and evaluating it correctly were the side effects of the movie during and after watching it. I define these side effects in a strictly positive sense.
For example, if I had been there (in Andreas Sobik's place) I would have picked a few kilos of the golden rock and walked away from the scene.
I remember a proverb that says, "He who is not content with little does not appreciate much".
