Last week I saw a model of a creature on the roof of a house and the flag of an amateur club playing in the local league was quite an interesting sight. I took a picture of it and went a bit closer to the house and there was another model of the creature climbing up the balcony behind the trees towards the house. This is a touristic place and there are summer residents in the house. I couldn't take a second close-up picture because I didn't think it would be appropriate and because of the possibility of misunderstanding.
But the pictures of the creature on the roof and climbing the house reminded me of Alien and Predator. We know that these two had separate films, but the AVP Alien vs Predator film in 2004 was the first film of the duo. I remember watching it the year it was released. After returning home, I learned that there was a second release in the Alien, Predator rivalry. So I became aware of the Aliens vs Predator Requiem film.
I was exposed to a personal urge to watch the film Aliens vs Predator Requiem, which I learned about as a result of the creature models on the balcony and roof of the house. I can't say that I resisted my enthusiasm to watch the film because I already love watching films.
The film has similarities with other Alien and Predator films in terms of subject matter. Predator's struggle with Aliens is carried to the world and this time, instead of limited people, a whole city finds itself in the events.
While watching the film, I thought that Predator would be friendlier to humans because of his fight against Aliens, so I hoped that the thesis of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" would be realised, but Predator does not hesitate to kill people even in the middle of his fight against Aliens. This means that my prediction about the film was not met.
Obviously, I don't want to act like a critic and bash the film, but it was the worst film I've ever seen that had Alien or Predator in it or both in the same film. The situation of using people's bodies for reproduction for Alien continues in this film. Moreover, although he has almost unlimited human resources, he cannot use it enough.
I'm trying hard to find a few positive sentences about the film based on the mock-ups, but I can't. When the fight moves to the city, more action, more weapons and more professional teams are expected, but the expectation is not fulfilled throughout the film. Let's imagine that something like this is real and creatures are hunting people in the big city. The area would be blockaded, quarantine would be imposed, the entrances and exits would be closed and the army would be brought into the city and the struggle would be carried out at the highest level. But none of this happens, and a police officer and a few of his mates try to fight with a few primitive weapons they have acquired - until a bomb is dropped from a fighter jet. After the bomb is dropped, the film turns into a "smile, I took your picture" situation and the job is done.
In my thoughts on determining good films and bad films; I said that every film has an audience, so no film is bad. I still stand by my opinion and I am sure there are those who find the film good and experience the excitement at the peaks. This may also be related to age criteria, that is, a 15-year-old friend may say it is a good film, while a 30-year-old friend may say it is bad.
If I see a model again, I will be more careful about which film it reminds me of!
